How do I start?With a high school diploma or some college credit, you can begin as a teacher assistant apprentice and then grow into a teacher preparation program if you choose. In this role, you will take at least 9 college credits (usually at a local community college) over the course of the 2 year program, working in a paid position.
Ready to pursue being a teacher as an undergraduate? LIU offers an undergraduate residency pathway. Already have a bachelor’s degree? You can start in a graduate level program at one of the many residency programs to become a teacher! |
